Coming This Summer: Tipasa Interlibrary Loan System

In July, 2021, the Library will replace ILLiad with a faster, more modern interlibrary loan system called Tipasa. The “look and feel” of your interlibrary loan account will be updated to Tipasa’s intuitive, user-friendly interface. The request process will not change: Request links will simply take you to the Tipasa system instead of the ILLiad system. There should be no disruption in service.

 

When will this change occur?

In early July, 2021.


What will happen to my ILLiad account?

After June, you may no longer be able to view your ILLiad account. All Nevada State ILLiad users will automatically have a new ILL account in Tipasa. You will be able to log into Tipasa with your NSHE ID and password, just as with ILLiad.


Will I be able to log into ILLiad after the switch?

No. Once Tipasa is live, ILLiad will no longer be accessible. Be sure to download any PDFs from your ILLiad account prior to July.


What if I place a request in ILLiad right before the change?

No problem -- requests that are being processed when we switch from ILLiad to Tipasa will be automatically transferred into your new Tipasa account, and fulfilled in Tipasa.


What if I have an ILL book due after June?

If you have an interlibrary loan book on loan during the switch, you will see the loan in your new Tipasa account. Your due date will remain the same.


What do I need to do to prepare? With the exception of the following two situations, you do not need to take any action:
  1. If you receive an article PDF via ILL in June (ie, articles stored in your ILLiad account in “Electronically Received Articles''), you will need to download it prior to July. Article PDFs remain in ILLiad for 30 days, so this situation applies only to patrons receiving articles in June. Email reminders will be sent to affected patrons.
  2. If you wish to view or make a copy of your request history, you will need to do that prior to July. See below for more information.

Will I be able to access my request history?

You will not be able to see a record of your requests after the switch to Tipasa. If you wish to save your request history, log into ILLiad and open your request history under “All Requests.” You can copy and paste this list and save it. You will not have this option after the switch to Tipasa. For a limited time after the switch, you can email ILL staff at ILL@nsc.edu to request a copy of your ILLiad request history.
