The Library offers a range of virtual instruction services, including Synchronous Library Instruction for synchronous online or hybrid classes, Embedded Canvas Support for convenient, point-of-need research help, and Meet with a Librarian consultations for individuals or small groups.

Synchronous Library Instruction sessions are held online during your regularly scheduled class time. Please provide at least two weeks’ notice so we can prepare a session tailored to your research assignment. We recommend students have a research assignment because these sessions are designed to be interactive, which is why they are only available synchronously. Instructors are required to attend instruction sessions.

Embedded Canvas Support is a new service that integrates librarians directly into your Canvas course in the form of a librarian-monitored discussion board. Your embedded librarian will answer student-submitted questions and provide research assignment help.

Meet with a Librarian appointments are half-hour virtual consultations where students receive research help from a librarian either 1-on-1 or with a small group. If you would like to offer extra credit or require students to attend a consultation, you can have students submit their consultation follow-up email as proof of attendance.

If you have questions or specific information you would like covered in students' Meet with a Librarian appointments, let us know in the Additional Comments.  Your subject librarian will follow up with you to fulfill your request and answer any questions.
