In order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment, the University Library requires that all visitors comply with the Library's Code of Conduct. In addition to following all applicable federal state, and local laws, visitors to the space also agree to follow with all applicable University and Nevada System of Higher Education policies.
The following includes behaviors and activities that interfere with the safe, secure, and respectful use of libraries. Refrain from:
Making unreasonable or inappropriate noise
Sleeping in the library space
Covering the study room windows with whiteboards
Unauthorized photography or videography
Sharing your MyNevadaState account credentials or Scorpion Card with others for the unauthorized use of library materials
Removal or attempted removal of library materials or property without checking them out or without authorization
Destroying, defacing, or abusing any library materials or other resources
Failure to return materials following the expiration of the loan period and/or on request for return of materials by the Library.
Being in an unauthorized area of the Library, remaining in the Library after closing or when requested to leave.
Using furniture, library equipment, and facilities in an inappropriate manner
Obstructing aisles and walkways
Leaving your personal property alone. The Library is not responsible for the security of personal belongings brought into its facilities. We encourage you to take every precaution to ensure the safety of personal belongings.
Persons who commit or attempt to commit offenses stated in the Student Code of Conduct and the Library Code of Conduct, may be asked to leave, lose their library privileges, and be subject to the sanctions as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
